The long-awaited follow-up to the first installment. This video continues the horror-inspired, theatrical slow-motion – while trying to keep the “sequel” status from collapsing into common franchise stereotypes that the horror genre is known for.Principal photography for this project was plagued with technical difficulties from the start. Cameras falling off cars, HDD cameras shutting themselves off before every run, lens issues, focusing problems… it was all there. While this video didn’t quite live up to my personal expectation and original creative vision… it did turn out well.
I cannot get enough of the first minute and twelve seconds of RiceBoyTV‘s coverage from the 5th round of Formula Drift in Seattle. Will Roegge shot and edited the video, and did a phenomenal job. The intro 110% epic, and is what I want to see more of with all drift-related videos across the board. When you put time, effort, and heart into anything… it shows. And Will’s intro simply kills it. I can’t wait to see more amazing work from him.Click here to watch this video in full HD via Vimeo.
This video is a super-short and sweet attempt at making a drift video unlike any other I have made before. All the on-car footage is shot from cameras mounted on other drift cars during multi-car tandem. I wanted it to feel very theatrical… and the soundtrack by John Carpenter helps tremendously. The DriftMechaniks were on a murder spree this weekend… so it seemed all-but fitting.
