35mm Consumer Society.
I lended a creative helping-hand to Lieze, and did up a poster design for her art show next week. She and I have both been up to our necks in this project. It’s scale is huge, and she still has a million things to complete before the show… but I figured I could take care of the poster, and leave her with one less thing on her plate.
The premise of the show is how advertising uses imagery and photographs that relate to our personal lives to appeal to us on a subconscious level. It will be using an array of 35mm slides projected using vintage slide projectors, with a motion graphic advertisements projected on top of the slide projections, using digital projectors. The projections are to be cast on a giant box constructed of plywood, shipping palettes, and analog VHS cassette tapes. She has sourced an insane amount of vintage technology to make all of this work.
If you’re in or around Atlanta on March 10th… come on out!

DTTN! Logo.
Another logo design that saw MANY revisions and explorations. The final version was found in the second set of variations… the first and third sets being drastically different from this batch – but altogether vital to the creative process. Further proof that your first idea is not always your best.

DMMBK Logo.
This logo underwent a TON of revisions. Overall, I’m quite happy with the symmetry and overall balance of the final iteration.

DriftMechaniks Hero Cards.
I had the opportunity to design all of the ‘Hero Cards’ for the Motorsport Nationals autograph sessions. I put a lot of time into these cards, and wanted them all to be slightly different… while maintaining a cohesive feel that I developed for the flyer. Like the flyer, I wanted the design to feel vibrant with energy to help reflect the chaotic nature of the sport.

DriftMechaniks Demo @ Atlanta Motor Speedway.

We will be down at Atlanta Motor Speedway this weekend for a drift demolition at the Motorsport Nationals. If you’re in or around the Atlanta-area… come on out and watch us destroy our Yokohama ADVAN Tires!
I had the honour of wrenching on most of the print-collateral for the drifting portion of this event, and I think it turned out killer! I wanted the flyer to be packed with energy, and be something nobody in their right mind would throw away.

2009 AAC Catalog.
With a MASSIVE effort behind it… The 2009 Advanced Armament Corp. catalog is finally complete. This project was an immense undertaking, and I am very glad to see it finished. I have been wrenching on the design, layout, and revisions for months. I’m VERY pleased with the result, and extremely proud of the final product.

Gossip Girl Marathon?
A sneak-peek at the 4-page spread I designed for S3 Magazine covering DMGGMASD. Keep an eye out on newstands in January.
The world is not ready.

Slide America Press Kits.
I came across these cool press kits I designed and had printed for SEMA back in 2006. We were looking for some company backing to help offset the cost of the documentary. I threw these press kits together extremely fast to make it back from the press in time for Vegas. Two years have passed since then, and now that I’m looking back on these… I think they turned out to be a slick piece of collateral.

The press kit starts out with a brief synopsis of what the project was about, and what our goal behind it was.

It talked about media partnerships, and what we had to offer as a marketing platform.

It overviewed unique impressions through all media outlets, and discussed partnership options for sponsorship.

Lastly, a DVD of the 1st teaser trailer was attached to the back inside cover via a cool gel disc.

Off all the prospective partnerships… the only one to step up and show faith in what we were doing was Exedy Racing Clutch. Most of the other companies were either turned off because of the street-drifting in the documentary, or fell under the “all talk, no action” clause that seems to plague the industry.
Regardless, these press kits are very cool, and will be something I will cherish forever. To me, these still mark the beginnings of this project… and are a small part of a larger picture of what this project later became.

Drift Invasion Flyer.
I put together a rad flyer for Unnatural Inc’s Drift Invasion series. I’m always down to help the grassroots guys… especially when it comes to promoting grassroots drift events. If you’re in the Portland area… definitely check out Unnatural Inc. and support their series.
