Lieze bought me a new Ibanez acoustic for my birthday. My old acoustic has just about had it, so I’m super-stoked to have a new one!
rnrnThis guitar sounds so over-the-top amazing. The 20dB gain switch makes gallop and tremolo picking intense!rnSeriously… awesome.
As a die-hard fan, and a tough critic… I can honestly say – Metallica’s new record is GREAT. The thrash is back on most of the album, and it sounds amazing. It isn’t the same as Kill ‘Em All… but nothing ever will be. I really thought Metallica’s day had passed… but Death Magnetic makes me think otherwise. The artwork on the digipak is very cool as well. Individual die-cuts on each page added a nice touch to the warm-toned grayscale images that lie within. There are even a few cool type treatments here and there. It’s been a long time since I’ve been really excited about a new record. I just hope it sells… so they put out another one. In fact… I bought the CD, and the MP3’s off iTunes just in hopes that they will
I grew up on Metallica. They are probably the one band that shaped me the most. My ears never have, and never will tire of the classic thrash sound that their early (pre-Black album) work embraced. Most of their recent tunes haven’t been my metal cup of tea. Some would say they lost their edge. Hell, I might say the same… but deep down, I just want to believe that they were exploring other creative avenues.Metallica’s ninth studio album… and first record in five years drops tomorrow. Based on the horrid YouTube videos of unreleased live songs I saw… I was terrified that this album would be awful. But Rick Rubin stepped in as producer, and from the few singles I downloaded on iTunes… I think it is actually going to be a great release. It sounds like they’re bringing the thrash back… which I couldn’t be more for.
