I lended a creative helping-hand to Lieze, and did up a poster design for her art show next week. She and I have both been up to our necks in this project. It’s scale is huge, and she still has a million things to complete before the show… but I figured I could take care of the poster, and leave her with one less thing on her plate. The premise of the show is how advertising uses imagery and photographs that relate to our personal lives to appeal to us on a subconscious level. It will be using an array of 35mm slides projected using vintage slide projectors, with a motion graphic advertisements projected on top of the slide projections, using digital projectors. The projections are to be cast on a giant box constructed of plywood, shipping palettes, and analog VHS cassette tapes. She has sourced an insane amount of vintage technology to make all of this work.If you’re in or around Atlanta on March 10th… come on out!

I was digging through some old boxes from my college days, and stumbled across these old flyers. If memory serves me correctly, Antonio Garcia, TJ McCucheon, and myself walked into the Kinko’s on 14th empty handed. The goal was to make the flyers with anything available inside the store (without using their computers). These flyers are a result of turning trash cans inside-out, and using paper scraps, scissors, and glue to assemble a completed flyer.I have no idea who made what, but This was definitely a fun exercise, and it yielded some pretty cool workI might have to try this again sometime!

MotorMavens FlyerA quick revamp of the MotorMavens flyer I designed back in August. This version has three new images and tighter crops on a few of the other photos. Keep an eye out for these this weekend at Irwindale Speedway for the final round of Formula Drift!

I had the opportunity to design all of the ‘Hero Cards’ for the Motorsport Nationals autograph sessions. I put a lot of time into these cards, and wanted them all to be slightly different… while maintaining a cohesive feel that I developed for the flyer. Like the flyer, I wanted the design to feel vibrant with energy to help reflect the chaotic nature of the sport.David JonesrnDriftMechaniks Hero Cards - Motorsport Nationals 2009rnDriftMechaniks Hero Cards - Motorsport Nationals 2009Erin SanfordrnDriftMechaniks Hero Cards - Motorsport Nationals 2009rnDriftMechaniks Hero Cards - Motorsport Nationals 2009Daniel WilliernDriftMechaniks Hero Cards - Motorsport Nationals 2009rnDriftMechaniks Hero Cards - Motorsport Nationals 2009Andy SapprnDriftMechaniks Hero Cards - Motorsport Nationals 2009rnDriftMechaniks Hero Cards - Motorsport Nationals 2009Big thanks to Cody for taking the profile pictures, and to Panda and Alex for coming through with action shots of the cars!
