This past year I found myself on a tough road. I was experiencing a massive creative slump… totally uninspired by absolutely everything I was shooting. I felt spent. Everything I did felt forced, nothing felt exciting, and I was quite possibly teetering the edge of burnout. Despite the frustration, I stubbornly pressed on… convinced I would eventually push past it all.

Looking back on last year’s photographs, I can see that I not only began to emerge from the slump… but in the process loosened my grip on the reigns and let my photographic voice steer me in the direction that it wanted to.  It is now clear to me that this shift began when I drove to Alaska in 2017… which ironically was the last time I was truly happy with my work.

Having relinquished some of that control… I am proud to present a few of my favorite photographs from the past year. As you can see, they are almost entirely panoramic, which is the clear direction my personal work is headed. The bulk of these images are part of larger projects… shot on an array of 35mm film stocks.
